Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his warm wishes to the nation on the occasion of Govardhan Puja, highlighting its significance within the five-day Deepotsav festival. He described the festival as a vital symbol of India's agrarian economy and its deep-rooted cultural traditions, emphasizing its connection to cattle conservation.

Adityanath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Govardhan Yojana, aimed at leveraging cow dung to produce bio-compost and ethanol, underlining the scheme's impact on boosting prosperity. The Chief Minister mentioned the state's initiatives in subsidizing 16 lakh cattle to aid farmers and prevent crop damage, offering financial incentives to participants.

The Govardhan Puja celebrates Lord Krishna's mythological act of lifting the Govardhana Hill to protect Vrindavana's residents. It involves preparing numerous food offerings to be given as prasadam. Devotees honor cows with decorations and worship, marking an essential aspect of India's cultural heritage.
