Prasoon Joshi Receives 2024 National Kishore Kumar Award in Esteemed Ceremony

In a glittering ceremony held in Khandwa, the birthplace of the iconic Kishore Kumar, celebrated lyricist, and poet Prasoon Joshi was honored with the prestigious National Kishore Kumar Award for 2024. Recognized for his exceptional contributions to film songwriting, Joshi stood out among his peers amid applause from fans and fellow artists.
After receiving the accolade, Joshi expressed his delight, describing the honor as a 'matter of great pride.' He acknowledged the enduring legacy of Kishore Kumar, noting, 'People with a personality and talent like Kishore Da are rare in this world, and we cherish him.'
Joshi also addressed the media on the ongoing admiration for Kishore Kumar and the calls for him to be posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna. He emphasized, 'No amount of respect could ever be enough for Kishore Da, and the deepest respect is the one that lives in people's hearts and commands their affection.'
Known for his acclaimed work in films like 'Taare Zameen Par' and 'Rang De Basanti,' as well as leading McCann Worldgroup in India and the Asia Pacific, Joshi is the 29th recipient of this esteemed award, succeeding last year's honoree, director Rajkumar Hirani.
