Triumphant 26: Engineering Aces Score Perfect 100 in JEE-Main

In a remarkable achievement, 26 candidates attained the elusive perfect score of 100 in the JEE-Main engineering entrance exam, according to an announcement by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This milestone was previously reached by 24 candidates in 2025.

Despite the noteworthy accomplishment, a concerning trend persists as no candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories were among the top scorers, mirroring previous years' outcomes. A senior NTA official clarified that the NTA score represents normalised scores, reflecting performance across multiple shifts of the exam, rather than a simple percentage of marks obtained.

The JEE-Main is a pivotal examination for admissions into India's esteemed engineering institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). Held biannually, it offers candidates the chance to participate in one or both sessions, with the best score contributing to their ranking.
