In a remarkable feat, twenty-six candidates have attained a perfect NTA score of 100 in the JEE-Main engineering entrance exam, according to a release by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday.

This achievement follows a similar performance in 2025 where twenty-four individuals reached the same milestone. The exam, crucial for engineering aspirants, saw over 13 lakh candidates test their mettle in its January edition and more than 10 lakh in April. Interestingly, the normalization process applied to these multi-shift examinations transforms scores into a scale from 100 to 0, clarifying that the NTA score reflects relative performance rather than a direct mark percentage.

The breakdown of this year's achievers includes five candidates each from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, four from Rajasthan, three from Delhi, and two apiece from Maharashtra and Haryana, with one from each of Chandigarh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Gujarat. Notably, all 26 candidates are male.
