Food Tragedy at Tribal School Sparks Outrage in Odisha

An alarming incident occurred at the Kakabandha Ashram School in Odisha, where over 100 students fell ill and one died following consumption of controversial food items. The students allegedly consumed fermented rice, mashed potatoes, and mango chutney, which were not on the approved menu.
Following the dire situation, 67 students were transferred to the PMR Medical College and Hospital at Baripada. Tragically, Rupali Besra, a Class 5 student, passed away despite intensive medical care. Outrage ensued, with locals clashing with police and demanding compensation for the bereaved family.
Bureaucratic and governmental responses have been swift. The school's headteacher was suspended for negligence, and a case was registered regarding the student's death. The Chief Minister has ordered an inquiry, and the BJD has formed a fact-finding team to investigate the tragedy further.
