Hindustan Power has clinched a significant 100 MW AC solar power project from Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, the company announced on Thursday. Scheduled for development in Punjab, the project translates to approximately 140-150 MWp of solar capacity. The tender was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, culminating in a successful e-reverse auction conducted on the ETS portal.
Under the long-term agreement, Hindustan Power will secure a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) spanning 25 years with PSPCL, providing a stable revenue stream and bolstering the clean energy supply in the region. The project is anticipated to be commissioned within two years from the PPA's effective date, further diversifying Hindustan Power's renewable energy portfolio.
Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, emphasized the project aligns perfectly with the company's strategy of participating in competitive bids focused on pricing discipline and execution capability. He noted that the project strengthens Hindustan Power's operational presence in Punjab while reinforcing its commitment to India's transition to cleaner energy. Puri assured stakeholders of the company's priority to complete the project on schedule, ensuring consistent performance throughout its lifecycle.
