SAD (Punar Surjit) Unveils 'Akali Declaration' for Punjab's Future

The Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) unveiled its 'vision document' on Thursday, presenting a strategic roadmap to improve the lives of youth, farmers, women, and traders in Punjab. With state assembly polls approaching next year, the faction led by Giani Harpreet Singh aims to chart a course for Punjab's progress and prosperity.

Introducing the 'Akali Declaration', prepared by a seven-member committee, Singh, along with party leaders like Bibi Jagir Kaur, addressed key issues affecting Punjabis. The document highlights 'Panthic' concerns, focuses on education and health, and stresses the importance of youth engagement in driving the state's development.

Singh criticized the AAP government for increasing state debt and underscored that addressing unemployment and the drug crisis must be priorities. The vision document reiterates the party's commitment to 'Panthic' principles and advocates for the release of Sikh prisoners and a more autonomous federal structure for Punjab.
