Lufthansa Group Introduces New Economy Basic Fare Option
Lufthansa Group has announced a new 'Economy Basic' fare that imposes restrictions on carry-on luggage beyond a laptop bag or a small backpack, requiring additional fees for extra baggage. Starting from April 28, bookings can be made online for flights beginning on May 19, 2023.
Lufthansa Group has launched a fresh 'Economy Basic' fare, altering the standard approach to carry-on luggage limits. Beyond a laptop bag or small backpack, passengers face extra charges.
Customers who require additional carry-on or checked baggage can purchase these services under this affordable fare, or opt for expanded baggage allowances offered in higher fare tiers, the German airline group conveyed on Thursday.
From April 28, the new cost-effective fare can be booked online for flights commencing on May 19 across various Lufthansa brands, including SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and more. It complements the 'Economy Light' class, which will now offer a rebooking option for a fee, enhancing fare transparency and individual need-tailoring.
