Swift Response Quells Railway Track Blaze

A fire broke out along the railway track between Khardi and Umbermali stations in Thane district on Tuesday evening, causing a temporary halt in train operations. Officials reported that the incident occurred at 6:35 PM, near kilometre 107/44 on the down (Kasara-bound) track.
Several trains navigated the affected section with caution as railway engineering staff promptly arrived on the scene to tackle the blaze. Within 45 minutes, they had successfully brought the fire under control, according to Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Nila.
Fortunately, there was no damage to the tracks or railway property, although train services experienced some delays. The track was subsequently declared safe, and train movement resumed shortly after.
