Singapore, which imports 90 percent of its food and beverage requirements, presents a lucrative market for Indian exporters, according to the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI).
Over 100 Indian companies are participating in the Food and Hospitality Asia (FHA) fair in Singapore, showcasing products that range from rice and spices to coffee and marine products. Despite a free trade agreement and strong bilateral ties, India only accounts for 2.6 percent of Singapore’s food and beverage imports, mainly in cereals.
The FHA fair offers an essential platform for Indian companies to connect with buyers and decision-makers, creating pathways for increased penetration in the ASEAN market, which is projected to grow substantially in the coming years.
