Andhra Pradesh Minister Satya Kumar Yadav stressed the need for coordinated efforts to combat the rising incidence of road accidents in the state, following a tragic crash that killed eight and injured 10. Implementing the PM RAKSHA scheme, which offers cashless accident victim treatment, marks a pivotal strategy in enhancing road safety.

Yadav highlighted that collaborative efforts between transport, police, and health departments are essential to implementing precautionary measures at vulnerable spots. The PM RAKSHA scheme, covering up to Rs 1.5 lakh within the golden hour, seeks to alleviate victims' financial burdens and boost emergency care access.

The minister reported that over 23 accident-related deaths are recorded daily due to overspeeding, stressing the importance of timely interventions. Meanwhile, the scheme's reach is expanding across Andhra Pradesh, with initiatives underway to involve more hospitals and broaden healthcare accessibility.
