A tragic accident in Mantralayam, Kurnool district, resulted in the deaths of eight devotees and injuries to 10 others. The incident, which occurred early Thursday morning, involved a Light Commercial Vehicle colliding with a tanker.
According to police, the vehicle was carrying around 20 passengers en route to darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swamy when its driver, reportedly drowsy, drove in the wrong direction, leading to the fatal collision.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed their condolences. Financial aid has been announced for the victims' families, and the Karnataka government has been urged to coordinate with Andhra Pradesh for the necessary medical care.
