India is carving a decisive niche in the global clean energy sector, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh declared at a summit in New Delhi. Speaking at the World Hydrogen Energy Summit, he outlined India's strategic fusion of policy, innovation, and industry collaboration.

The minister highlighted India's move towards a sustainable energy framework, focusing on green hydrogen, expanded nuclear capabilities, and renewable energy enhancement. The integration of domestic technology in sectors like electrolysers is set to play a crucial role in economic and environmental advancements.

Singh underscored India's ambitious roadmap: securing USD 100 billion in oil and gas investments, increasing exploration areas massively, and boosting natural gas utilization. As India invests heavily in its National Green Hydrogen Mission, with an outlay of Rs 19,744 crore, it aims to spearhead alternative fuel ecosystems, markedly reducing carbon footprints in key industries.

Nuclear energy advancements are equally promising, Singh announced, with a goal of achieving 100 GW of power capacity by 2047. Indigenous nuclear technologies and plans for small modular reactors signify a transformative phase in India's atomic strategy.

Recent policy shifts have invigorated the nuclear sector, fostering private investment opportunities. Emerging markets in green jobs and tech innovation, particularly in electric mobility and renewable manufacturing, are expectant growth areas, promising sustainable development coupled with economic prosperity.

Singh concluded that India's demographic and technological prowess positions it as a formidable force in the global decarbonisation narrative, maintaining a steady trajectory towards sustainable energy solutions.
