Jammu and Kashmir's Industrial Sector Confronts West Asia Crisis Challenges
Amid the West Asia crisis, Jammu and Kashmir's Department of Industries and Commerce held a high-level meeting, led by Commissioner Secretary Vikramjit Singh, to discuss the impact on the region's industrial and trade sectors. Measures include exploring alternative energy sources, ensuring worker wage payments, and addressing transportation and credit issues.

The Department of Industries and Commerce in Jammu and Kashmir held an essential meeting to address the repercussions of the ongoing West Asia crisis. Chaired by Commissioner Secretary Vikramjit Singh, the session tackled energy supply challenges impacting local industries and trade.
Singh remarked on the supply-demand mismatch due to the crisis and emphasized the government's plans to explore alternative energy sources. He further informed that Deputy Commissioners will coordinate with Oil Marketing Companies while also urging industrial units to avoid spreading unfounded rumors.
Addressing logistics concerns, Singh committed to discussing transportation issues with railway authorities to ensure seamless movement of goods. In addition, he highlighted efforts to secure credit support for industries through the Union Territory Level Bankers' Committee and ensure prompt wage payments for workers.
