A week-long crackdown led by the Delhi Traffic Police has resulted in the issuance of 746 challans at the bustling IIT intersection. The enforcement campaign aimed to alleviate persistent congestion caused by roadside parking, queues at the nearby CNG station, and peak-hour school traffic.
The initiative was a joint effort involving the Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Transport Corporation, and local stakeholders. It concentrated on removing encroachments, enforcing lane discipline, and regulating vehicle flow. To ensure seamless traffic management, personnel were stationed at all four arms of the intersection.
Efforts also included the relocation request of a government liquor store contributing to roadside congestion. Authorities continue to implement rigorous enforcement and raise public awareness to maintain improvements in traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
