Air India has overhauled its frequent flyer program, aiming to better serve its 10 million members with increased flexibility and reduced point requirements for cabin upgrades. These changes aim to enhance customer experience as the airline undergoes a broad transformation while tackling operational challenges.
The airline, still overcoming losses, continues its ambitious revamp amidst various pressures. The current geopolitical tension in West Asia has led to elevated fuel prices and extended flight times due to regional airspace limitations.
On Wednesday, Air India announced major upgrades to its Maharaja Club loyalty program. These include fewer points needed for awards and cabin upgrades, a new simplified tier-based system for flight rescheduling and cancellations, and extended travel perks for companions of members, promising a comprehensive upliftment of the customer journey.
