Rajasthan's Employment Crisis: Over 2 Million Youth Without Jobs

Data reveals limited private sector placements, emphasizing the need to activate employment offices and enhance job placements for the state's growing unemployed population.

More than 22 lakh unemployed individuals are listed with Rajasthan's employment offices, according to RTI Act data. The information highlights a notable gap in government sector hiring, with no recruitments recorded in five years.
Candidates registered across the state reached 22,21,317 by January 14, showcasing a significant number of job seekers. In particular, Jaipur has the highest number of registered unemployed individuals, totaling 2.51 lakh.
Despite private sector growth over two decades, employment placements remain minimal. The Directorate of Employment faces pressure to facilitate job opportunities and enhance coordination between the public and private sectors.
