A major helicopter manufacturing facility is set to rise in Nanded, located in Maharashtra's Marathwada region, according to BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Chavan. The project, requiring an investment of Rs 4,250 crore, is expected to create between 1,800 and 2,000 direct jobs, alongside numerous indirect employment opportunities.
The plant is part of a collaboration between the state government and Retavia Private Limited, focusing on manufacturing, assembly, and spare parts facilities. Additionally, it will offer engineering services along with maintenance and repair operations for helicopters.
Chavan mentioned that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced the project in the state assembly. The initiative aims to support national programs such as 'Make in India' and 'Viksit Bharat,' spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
