The Andhra Pradesh LPG Distributors Association, led by President K Srinatha Reddy, emphasized the importance of reserving domestic cooking gas for household use amidst disruptions caused by the US-Israel and Iran conflict. Reddy appealed to consumers, urging them not to sell cooking gas to hotels, ensuring stocks last longer during these challenging times.
The association reported an increase in cylinder bookings, peaking at over three lakh due to concerns over supply shortages. Authorities conducted raids, seizing cylinders from hotels. Reddy noted the impact on commercial deliveries and stressed the need for government intervention to secure gas supplies for the future.
Despite reassurances from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, commercial gas shortages are heavily affecting hotels and hostels. Reddy highlighted that private hostels and smaller hotels are particularly vulnerable, with some resorting to expensive, inflated prices for gas cylinders. The situation underscores the urgency of strategic planning for uninterrupted LPG supply.
