Amidst swirling rumors of a potential LPG price hike, scenes of chaos unfolded outside the Mahagauri Gas Agency in Bankati on Thursday. Consumers, driven by hearsay, formed long queues to secure cooking gas cylinders.
The frenzy began as early as 4 am, with desperate locals gathering at the agency's gates. Upon the gate opening at 7 am, the scramble intensified, prompting near-stampede conditions as people hoisted cylinders onto their heads and shoulders.
District Supply Officer Vimal Kumar Shukla assured that there was no shortage of LPG in the district.
