Intense Investigation Unveiled: Learjet 45 Crash Probe Developments

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has announced that it is seeking specialized assistance to retrieve crucial data from the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of a Learjet 45 plane that crashed near Baramati last month. The accident tragically claimed the lives of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others.

According to AAIB, both flight recorders from the VSR Ventures-owned aircraft endured prolonged exposure to intense heat, resulting in fire damage. While data from the Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) has been successfully extracted, meticulous technical examination of the CVR is ongoing. The agency is collaborating with the Accredited Representative from the United States, where the recorder was manufactured.

The AAIB emphasized its commitment to an objective, evidence-based investigation following the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2017, and ICAO standards. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu indicated that a preliminary report on the incident will be released soon.
