India-EU FTA: A Leap Towards Stronger Economic Ties

The India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is progressing towards completion as legal formalities, known as 'legal scrubbing,' are underway, with both sides eager to finalize the deal this year, according to EU Ambassador to India, Herve Delphin.

Describing the FTA as substantial, Delphin emphasized the combined economic interests and commitments from both the EU members and India. He highlighted the enthusiasm from business communities on both sides due to the wide-ranging opportunities the FTA promises.

Simultaneously, a newly signed Security and Defence Partnership further solidifies the relationship, with plans to strengthen cooperation in areas such as naval operations and cybersecurity, aligning both parties as trusted allies.
