Massive Cyber Fraud Racket Busted in Patna
Police arrested 22 people, including 15 women, in Patna, Bihar, for their involvement in a cyber fraud operation targeting cyber cafe owners. Raids uncovered numerous electronic devices, and the operation allegedly defrauded victims by offering fake B2B services and Aadhaar centres. Efforts continue to capture remaining gang members.

A major breakthrough in cybercrime investigations occurred in Patna, Bihar, with the arrest of 22 individuals, including 15 women, involved in a large-scale cyber fraud racket. The police carried out raids across three strategic locations in the Saguna Mor and Rupaspur areas, dismantling illegal call centres engaged in fraudulent activities.
Authorities seized a significant amount of evidence during the operation, including 19 laptops, a desktop computer, 53 mobile phones, 12 ATM cards, and numerous documents. The suspects reportedly targeted cyber cafe owners by downloading their data and promising fictitious B2B services and Aadhaar centre setups.
According to Cyber Police Station DSP Sangeeta, the operation had been active for 12-18 months. The apprehended women, who were paid monthly salaries ranging from Rs 8,000 to 10,000, primarily conducted phone calls to secure potential victims. The police continue their efforts to apprehend other members involved in the fraud scheme.
