Air India has commenced thorough inspections of the fuel control switches across its Boeing 787 fleet. This action follows a malfunction incident during a London to Bengaluru flight, sources reveal.
Manish Uppal, Air India's Senior Vice President for Flight Operations, informed Boeing 787 pilots about the precautionary fleet-wide re-inspection, pending Boeing's evaluation. Currently, Air India operates 33 Boeing 787s.
While no new issues have emerged from the inspections, vigilance remains high following a past fatal accident linked to switch malfunction. Crew members are urged to report any irregularities immediately for safety assurance.
