In a strategic move, Honda is turning its attention to India, a country seen as pivotal for its growth alongside the US and Japan, stated Takashi Nakajima, Honda Cars India President and CEO.
The automaker is set to expand its SUV lineup in the nation, leveraging the market's strong demand across various price categories. This shift is a significant change in Honda's approach over the past few years.
Looking ahead, Honda plans to launch three new models by 2026-27, targeting the SUV segment. The company is also committed to increasing its share of electric and hybrid vehicles to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
