The twin incidents coincided with President Donald Trump's visit to Asia. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump classified the crashes as unusual, suggesting possible 'bad fuel' as a cause and expressing anticipation that the truth would soon surface.
The U.S. Pacific Fleet announced that investigations are underway and that they have yet to disclose the USS Nimitz's location. Meanwhile, China's foreign ministry publicly offered humanitarian aid, stating this in light of the aircraft accidents.
