ISRO has announced a significant collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to boost decentralized planning through advanced geospatial technologies. On National Panchayati Raj Day, the space agency revealed that it has completed high-resolution land use mapping for the entire nation.
This extensive dataset, developed at a 1:10,000 scale, is now accessible to government organizations to support gram panchayat development plans. The data is integrated as an essential information layer within the Ministry's Grammanchitra web portal.
This initiative aims to foster stronger, data-driven governance at grassroots levels, underlining the potential of geospatial technologies in enhancing localized planning and development.
