Diamond League Doubles Prize Money Disciplines for 2026

The Diamond League has announced a significant change in its prize money structure for 2026. The number of top-tier 'Diamond+' events will double to eight per meeting, offering increased rewards for participating athletes while keeping the total prize pool at $9.24 million.

Each meeting will feature two sprint or hurdles events, two long- or middle-distance races, two field events, and two other disciplines, all evenly split between male and female competitors. This initiative aims to provide more athletes with the opportunity to earn higher payouts.

According to the organizers, athletes can earn up to $20,000 at these events and upwards of $60,000 in the finals, marking the highest individual rewards in the event's history. The 2026 season kicks off on May 16 in Shanghai/Keqiao and concludes with a final in Brussels on September 4-5.
