Greek shipowners and companies are examining their systems for cyber threats after advice from the National Cybersecurity Authority. Amid Iranian cyber threats, companies in various sectors, including transport and energy, have been urged to inspect their networks. In response to rising cyber risks, Greek shipowners and other companies are rigorously inspecting their systems following guidelines from the National Cybersecurity Authority, according to multiple sources on Wednesday. This proactive stance comes amid recent cyberattack claims linked to the ongoing Iran conflict.
The advisory, marked as 'high-priority,' prompted shipping, banking, and other critical sectors to execute system scans. It issued a set of indicators, such as IP addresses and malware identifiers, to detect potential compromises. Authorities urged immediate action and communication of incidents to security officers.
Simultaneously, Albania confirmed a cyberattack on its parliamentary digital infrastructure, pointing fingers at Iran-linked actors. With increased electronic interference observed near the Strait of Hormuz, the region braces for potential escalations. Greek sources have yet to verify significant attacks but remain vigilant as investigations continue.
