The annual report by the Swedish Security Service (SAPO) identifies Russia, China, and Iran as the most significant threats to Sweden's security. The agency highlights Russia's increasing tendency for risky actions, mainly through destabilizing hybrid attacks, as a significant concern.
Iran has also been identified as a serious threat. Swedish authorities have observed state actors utilizing criminal networks within Sweden to conduct violent activities, contributing to the nation’s ongoing efforts to combat gang-related crime.
Furthermore, Security Service Chief Charlotte von Essen notes that recent U.S.-Israeli operations against Iran have escalated threats towards American, Israeli, and Jewish entities within Sweden.
