Bharti Airtel, one of India's leading telecommunications companies, announced its network expansion to Marwah in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, a remote area previously devoid of reliable mobile connectivity. This development makes Airtel the first service provider to connect this strategically vital region.
Characterized by tough terrain and limited road access, Marwah remains isolated during the winter months due to heavy snowfall, forcing residents to rely on mules or foot travel. The absence of telecom coverage has kept a 150-km corridor disconnected until now.
Airtel's high-speed network rollout in Marwah reflects a transformative change, empowering residents, security forces, and tourists alike. This connectivity not only facilitates basic communication but also taps into the region's vast tourism potential, enhancing local economic prospects.
