Global AI Dialogue: UN's Strategic Focus with India's Leadership

At the India AI Impact Summit, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted the UN's role in facilitating global dialogue on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Guterres stressed that the UN is not to regulate AI but to create platforms for collaboration across governments, the private sector, and civil society.

In an exclusive interview ahead of the Summit, Guterres elaborated on significant UN efforts, such as the Global Digital Compact, focusing on building an Independent International Scientific Panel on AI. This panel aims to advance AI understanding globally and align efforts with India's AI strategy.

Guterres also unveiled a proposal for a voluntary global fund to enhance AI capacity-building in developing countries.
