Uber is set to broaden its food delivery footprint by launching operations in seven new European markets by 2026, according to a company spokesperson. The tech giant aims to tap into markets like the Czech Republic, Greece, and Romania, promising substantial growth in its consumer base.

Alongside entering Austria, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, Uber expects this expansion to generate an additional $1 billion in gross bookings over the next three years. "The demand from merchants and consumers for Uber's platform is remarkable, and it's time to elevate the standards," stated Susan Anderson, Uber's global delivery head.

This development comes on the heels of a strategic acquisition. Earlier this week, Uber agreed to purchase the delivery arm of Turkey's Getir from its main shareholder Mubadala, further solidifying its position in Turkey. The Financial Times first reported on Uber's expansion intentions.
