Sailing Forward: India's Indigenous Anti-Submarine Triumph
Cochin Shipyard Limited has delivered 'Mahe,' the first of eight indigenously designed Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts, to the Indian Navy. The warship, a significant addition to India's naval arsenal, features advanced capabilities for underwater surveillance, search and rescue operations, and mine laying.

'Mahe,' the pioneering vessel among eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts, has been delivered to the Indian Navy. Designed and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, Mahe represents a major stride in indigenous shipbuilding.
The acceptance agreement was signed by Dr S Harikrishnan of CSL and Commander Amit Chandra Choubey, in attendance of top naval officials. Engineered to DNV standards, the 78-meter warship combines a Diesel Engine-Waterjet propulsion system, showcasing India's prowess in naval engineering.
With capabilities in underwater surveillance, operations, and mine laying, Mahe reinforces India’s defense capabilities. It's a milestone aligned with the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, reflecting over 90% indigenous content, according to CSL.
