The UK's median full-time salary saw a notable climb to 39,039 pounds before tax this year, marking a 4.3% increase over 2022, according to annual official figures released on Thursday.
Despite higher inflation, the adjusted rise in salary still managed to hit 1.1%. This uptick was highlighted by data from the Office for National Statistics, using its CPIH measure of price increases.
Significantly, the care and leisure industries reported faster pay growth, driven by a substantial rise in the national minimum wage. These insights come from the ONS' robust Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings based on April earnings data each year.
