Airbus Expands Global Reach with New Tianjin Assembly Line
Airbus has inaugurated its second assembly line in Tianjin, China, enhancing its production capacity for the A320neo jets. This move follows the recent opening of another facility in Alabama. In a strategic move to bolster its global manufacturing capacity, Airbus has announced the opening of its second assembly line in Tianjin, China. The new line aims to enhance production of the company's best-selling A320neo family of single-aisle jets.
This marks the European aerospace giant's 10th final assembly line worldwide, with the Tianjin facility expected to be fully operational by early 2026. The inauguration comes on the heels of a similar launch in Mobile, Alabama, underscoring Airbus's commitment to expanding its footprint in key international markets.
During a meeting with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury vowed to deepen trade ties between China, France, and Europe. The strategic expansion is set against the backdrop of increasing trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, a situation Airbus and other European firms are navigating carefully.
