McLaren Unveils New Formula One Car for Miami Grand Prix
McLaren is set to introduce a completely new Formula One car at the Miami Grand Prix after a five-week hiatus. The team, third in standings, eyes aerodynamic upgrades to improve performance. Gulf conflict delayed races, reshaping the calendar and development focus for North American circuits.
In a strategic move, McLaren plans to unveil a 'completely new car' when Formula One resumes at the Miami Grand Prix, according to team principal Andrea Stella. The major aerodynamic upgrades are aimed at boosting the team's competitiveness following a five-week racing hiatus.
The recalibrated Formula One calendar, affected by canceled races in the Gulf due to regional conflict, means Miami becomes the fourth race rather than the sixth. Stella acknowledges the reshuffled schedule has benefited all teams by allowing more focused development efforts.
McLaren, although limited by their allocated wind tunnel and CFD resources due to last season's finish, remains competitive. Chief designer Rob Marshall asserts that targeted, quality development remains integral to their strategy, ensuring only effective advancements are pursued.
