Yamal Sidelined with Injury: Barcelona Star's World Cup Fate
Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury but is expected to play in the World Cup. The 18-year-old left the field during a recent win over Celta Vigo and leads LaLiga's scoring charts with 16 goals.
Barcelona attacker Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury in his left leg, the LaLiga club announced on Thursday. However, the Spain international is anticipated to participate in this year’s World Cup.
Yamal, who has been a linchpin in Barcelona's lineup, limped off the pitch during the team’s 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo. The 18-year-old notched the singular goal of the match from the penalty spot before his unfortunate exit. Post-match tests confirmed the extent of the injury, which involves the biceps femoris muscle.
The club stated that Yamal will undergo a conservative treatment plan. Moreover, despite his recurring groin issues this season, Yamal remains the leading LaLiga scorer for Barcelona with 16 goals and has also been impactful in international matches, providing three assists in two World Cup qualifying appearances.
