South African wicketkeeper Connor Esterhuizen has inked a deal with the Gujarat Titans, stepping in for the injured Tom Banton for IPL 2023. Banton was forced out due to a finger injury.
Esterhuizen made waves after his international debut against New Zealand, where he was instrumental in South Africa's 3-2 series triumph. The 24-year-old cricketer's excellence on the field earned him two Player of the Match awards and the title of Player of the Series.
Entering the IPL for the first time, Esterhuizen is signed at his base price of Rs 75 Lakh and is expected to be a backup wicketkeeper for Jos Buttler in the Titans' lineup.
