Other Indian-origin players faced tougher times. Akshay Bhatia recorded a 2-over 73, placing him T-65, a far cry from his previous performances that included missing cuts at The Hero Indian Open and The Masters. Sudarshan Yellamaraju also struggled, finishing the day at 3-over 74 in T-70 place.
Sweden's Ludvig Aberg led the pack with a flawless 8-under 63, taking the lead by one stroke over Harris English and Viktor Hovland, who are tied in second after their stunning 7-under 64 rounds.
