Indian badminton sensation Ayush Shetty's journey in the Orleans Open came to a halt as he faced a quarterfinal defeat. The 20-year-old was beaten by Japan's Yudai Okimoto in straight games, 18-21 and 9-21, according to ESPN.

Despite this setback, India’s hopes are pinned on several promising matches ahead. In a guaranteed win scenario for India, compatriots Malvika Bansod and Isharani Baruah are set to clash in the women's singles quarterfinals. Bansod is aiming for her first win beyond the round of 16 this year.

Elsewhere, Tanvi Sharma, determined to break her streak of first-round exits, will take on Japan's Natsuki Nidaira in a critical encounter. Meanwhile, in men's doubles, the duo of Hariharan Amasakarunan and MR Arjun advanced confidently, overcoming Scotland's Alexander Dunn and Adam Pringle in a thrilling match.
