In a significant development for the Indian Premier League, the Gujarat Titans have announced the appointment of former Australian cricket legend Matthew Hayden as their new batting coach for the upcoming season. The announcement was made on Tuesday, marking a strategic move by the franchise.
Hayden, famed for his explosive style and scoring over 15,000 international runs, played a pivotal role for Australia in his 273 international appearances. His tenure with Chennai Super Kings is fondly remembered, especially his contributions that led to their IPL title in 2010 and earning the Orange Cap in 2009.
Vikram Solanki, Gujarat Titans' Director of Cricket, emphasized the value of Hayden's vast experience and his capability to mentor young talents, which would be vital in defining the batting framework for the team. The IPL 2026 season is set to commence on March 28.
