Suryakumar Yadav Hails India's Epic T20 World Cup Triumph

India captain Suryakumar Yadav has reflected on the team's triumphant journey to clinch the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 title, describing it as a 'wonderful journey.' Yadav highlighted the collective effort that led the team to victory in front of a home crowd in Ahmedabad.

In the post-final press conference, Yadav acknowledged the challenges faced early in the tournament but praised the team's ability to find its rhythm and deliver strong performances throughout the competition. Now, he has set his sights on the 2028 Olympic gold medal.

The Indian skipper emphasized the team's transformation after the 2024 T20 World Cup, adopting a more aggressive and modern style of cricket. This change in approach led to victories in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Yadav vowing to continue this momentum.

During the final against New Zealand, India posted a formidable total of 255/5, courtesy of standout performances by Samson, Sharma, Kishan, and Dube. The Indian bowlers, led by Axar and Bumrah, restricted New Zealand, securing a historic home victory and defending their title.
