In a significant development for Scotland's cricket team, Jack Jarvis has been announced as a replacement for the injured Safyaan Sharif at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The decision was confirmed on Monday by the Event Technical Committee (ETC) following Sharif's groin injury sustained during training.
The committee, which includes prominent figures such as ICC's Wasim Khan and independent representative Shaun Pollock, made the decision to substitute Sharif, who had been an integral part of the squad. Jarvis, an experienced player with eight T20I matches for Scotland, was already accompanying the team as a travelling reserve.
Scotland's ongoing World Cup campaign has seen mixed results, with a single victory so far. Despite being eliminated from the tournament's next stage, the squad aims to finish their run with a win against Nepal in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. The team made headlines earlier by entering the tournament after Bangladesh's withdrawal.
