In a thrilling display of skill and strategy, Australia's Bonds Flying Roos secured their Auckland SailGP title for the second year in a row. Led by Tom Slingsby, they emerged victorious over the Emirates Great Britain and Los Gallos of Spain amid challenging weather conditions.
The intense race saw the Emirates GBR team claw past Los Gallos just before the final mark, placing second overall. Meanwhile, Spain managed to bag their first points this season after their boat sustained damage earlier in Perth.
The event featured a new split-fleet format to mitigate congestion, following a high-speed collision that hospitalized two athletes. SailGP continues to push the limits of sailing with catamarans reaching speeds over 100 kph, showcasing international teams battling in iconic venues across the globe.
