Purig Warriors Smash Kangs Sing’s Unbeaten Streak in Thrilling Ice Hockey Showdown

In a stirring display of resilience and skill, the Purig Warriors became the first team to defeat defending champions Kangs Sing, ending their unbeaten streak in Season 3 of the Ice Hockey League. The historic clash unfolded at Leh's NDS Stadium, co-organized by the UT Administration of Ladakh and the Ice Hockey Association of Ladakh.

Purig Warriors emerged victorious with a 4-2 win, overturning a second-period deficit. The first scoreless period was marked by competitive play, but Kangs' Gonbo Tashi broke the deadlock early in the second. Captain Sajjad Hussain accurately levelled the score for Purig, followed by Zakir Hussain's two quick goals, sealing the Warriors' control over the match.

Elsewhere, Kharu Falcons also secured a 4-2 victory against United Nubra, with late game composure proving decisive. In the women's competition, Shakar Chiktan Queens triumphed 3-1 over Changla Lamos, with captain Nissa Khatoon shining. Changla Blasters and Shakar Chiktan Royals also celebrated significant victories as the league continues to reflect the fervor of Ladakh's vibrant winter sports culture.
