Bihar Police Roll Out Strict Safety Measures for Girls' Hostels

In response to the recent death of a NEET aspirant, the Bihar Police have implemented stringent safety guidelines for girls' hostels statewide. These regulations mandate the registration of hostels, require police verification of staff, and emphasize the necessity of CCTV surveillance in strategic areas.

The tragic event involved a student from Jehanabad, who was found unconscious in a Patna hostel, later dying in a hospital. The family alleged sexual assault and accused authorities of a cover-up, leading to the arrest of a hostel employee.

The new guidelines aim to bolster security through compulsory staff verification, constant supervision by female wardens, and stringent visitor protocols. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring women's safety and enforcing these rules rigorously.
