Police have dismissed allegations circulating on social media about issues with the new Malanggad funicular railway, clarifying that the system was temporarily paused for planned maintenance and is now operational.
Inspector Sandeep Shivle stated that claims about passengers being stuck were misleading and urged the public to rely on official information.
In the wake of increased footfall due to yatra season, preventive maintenance was deemed necessary to guarantee safety, as clarified by the police. The railway, opened in January 2026, significantly reduces travel time to the shrine.
