In a significant development, the newly formed Manipur government held its inaugural Cabinet meeting on Wednesday night, steered by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at his bungalow.
The meeting was a pivotal moment for Manipur's state governance, following Singh's recent swearing-in as Chief Minister. The event was attended by Chief Secretary Dr Puneet Kumar Goel, Deputy Chief Minister L Dikho, and newly sworn-in ministers including Govindas Konthoujam and K Loken Singh. An official statement emphasized the meeting as the beginning of collective decision-making for the state's Cabinet.
In related developments, four political parties, including the National People's Party, Naga People's Front, Janata Dal-United, and two Independent Members, declared their unconditional support for the BJP. Additionally, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has summoned the 7th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly to convene on Thursday afternoon.
