Oman Steps In as Pakistan Withdraws from FIH Men's Junior World Cup

In a recent development, Oman is set to replace Pakistan in the FIH Men's Junior World Cup, following Pakistan's decision to withdraw from the tournament. Scheduled to take place in Chennai and Madurai from November 28 to December 10, the event will continue as planned with Oman stepping in as a replacement.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) confirmed this change on Wednesday, after the Pakistan Hockey Federation opted out, citing deteriorating Indo-Pak relations as a contributing factor. Oman will now participate due to its strong performance in the Junior Asia Cup 2024.
This marks the second sports event in India that Pakistan has withdrawn from recently, amid challenging bilateral relations. The Indian government's policy to avoid bilateral contests with Pakistan yet continue in multi-nation tournaments remains firm.
